Agricultural Sciences practice questions and a worked example

Grade 10 Agricultural Sciences questions on sustainable natural resource utilisation cover soil degradation, tillage systems, water use, agricultural waste and primary and secondary resources. Common mistakes

  • Giving a cause of soil erosion when a control measure is asked. Overgrazing and monoculture cause it; cover crops, contour ploughing and zero cultivation reduce it.
  • Mixing up crusting and compaction. The hardening of the soil surface is soil crusting.
  • Treating soil as a renewable resource. Soil is non-renewable because it takes a long time to develop.
