Terms of Service

Version 1.0.0 · Effective Date: July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ReClass, operated by ReClass (Pty) Ltd ("ReClass", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, browsing, listing, buying, selling, or donating on ReClass, you agree to these Terms, alongside our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Refund & Returns Policy.

1. What ReClass Is

ReClass is a marketplace that connects members within the same school, college, university, or training institution so they can buy, sell, donate, and request second-hand educational essentials.

ReClass is not the seller of any item. Every listing is created and fulfilled by a member of the community — ReClass facilitates the connection, payment, and marketplace infrastructure, but the sale agreement for each item is between the buyer and the seller.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

  • • You must provide accurate information when registering, and a genuine connection to the institution you claim to belong to.
  • • Each institution's marketplace is only accessible to verified members of that institution.
  • • You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • • You must be legally able to enter into binding transactions to buy or sell on ReClass.

3. Fees

Sellers receive the full price they list an item for. Fees are added on top and paid by the buyer at checkout:

  • •Platform fee — 10% of the item price, retained by ReClass.
  • •Service fee — 3% + R2 flat per seller in your cart, covering payment processing.
  • •Institution fee — 5% of the item price, paid directly to the seller's institution.

These are the standard rates; specific institutions or seller types may have different rates applied by ReClass. A minimum listing price and cart limits also apply and are shown to you when listing or checking out.

4. Listings & Selling

  • • Listings must accurately describe the item's condition (New, Like New, Good, or Fair), category, and price — see our Community Guidelines for full listing conduct rules.
  • • Listings support up to 4 photos. Items may be listed for sale or as a free donation.
  • • Collection currently happens in person, at your institution — ReClass does not offer shipping or courier delivery.
  • • Sellers are responsible for honouring their listings and handing over items promptly once a sale is confirmed.

5. Buying & Checkout

Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment gateway. Cart totals, minimum and maximum order values, and item limits are shown to you before you check out and may change from time to time.

An order can be cancelled before payment completes. Once payment has cleared, an order can no longer be cancelled — if there's a problem with your order, please see our Refund & Returns Policy.

6. Refunds & Cancellations

Buyers and sellers can request a refund on a paid order at any time by contacting us with a reason. Refund requests are reviewed before being processed — they are not automatic. Full details, including what happens to fees and payouts, are set out in our Refund & Returns Policy.

6A. ReClass Extra Subscriptions

ReClass Extra is an optional paid plan for ReClass's learning features. One plan covers up to 3 learners: your own children, or yourself if you're the learner. It's sold as monthly billing at R99 a month, or as the ReClass Save – 3-Month Pass at R249. ReClass isn't VAT-registered, so these are the full prices.

Who can buy. A parent or guardian, or a learner who is 18 or older. A learner under 18 may buy only with a parent's or guardian's agreement, which they confirm at checkout.

What's included. For each covered learner, in every subject: Homework Assist for up to 20 questions a day, Learning Checks and rechecks, personalised practice, exam preparation and the full Learning Passport history. Daily allowances are per learner, reset at midnight (South African time) and don't roll over. We may limit automated or unusually heavy use that could harm the service. Tutoring sessions are booked and paid for separately.

Monthly billing. Your card is charged through our payment provider, PayFast, when you sign up and then every month on the same date until you cancel. If a payment doesn't go through, we'll email you and you keep access for 7 days while you update your card. After that the plan ends and your account moves to the free plan.

Cancelling. Cancel monthly billing at any time in Profile → Billing. You won't be charged again and you keep ReClass Extra until the end of the month you've paid for. Before then you can turn billing back on without paying twice.

ReClass Save – 3-Month Pass. A once-off payment for 3 months of ReClass Extra, which doesn't renew automatically. If you buy one while a plan is running, it starts when that plan ends, so no days are lost.

Refunds. If you change your mind within 7 days of your first payment for a plan, we'll refund it in full. Part-months of monthly billing aren't refunded. If you stop a pass part-way, we'll refund the full weeks left. Duplicate charges, and charges after you cancelled, are refunded in full. See our Refund & Returns Policy.

When a plan ends. Your account moves to the free plan. Learning history isn't deleted.

Paying for someone else's learner. If you pay for a learner through "Ask a parent to unlock", you're paying for their access only. You don't see their learning data unless their account is linked to yours.

Price changes. We'll tell monthly subscribers at least 30 days before a new price applies to their next payment. A pass you've already bought isn't affected.

7. Prohibited Conduct

Harassment, dishonest listings, counterfeit or prohibited items, taking payment outside of ReClass to avoid fees, and other conduct that undermines trust in the marketplace are not permitted. The full list of rules is set out in our Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms.

8. Account Restrictions & Termination

We may remove or hide a listing, issue a warning, temporarily restrict, or suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or our Community Guidelines. Where appropriate, we may also report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities. Moderation decisions are made at ReClass's discretion.

9. Payment Security

ReClass never receives or stores your card number, CVV, or full card details — payments are handled entirely by our PCI-compliant payment gateway. See our Privacy Policy for more on how your information is handled.

10. Limitation of Liability

ReClass provides the marketplace platform but is not a party to the agreement between a buyer and a seller for any individual item. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReClass is not liable for the condition, quality, legality, or description of items listed by members, or for a member's failure to complete a transaction in good faith. Where ReClass can reasonably assist — such as through our refund and moderation processes — we will.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as ReClass evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use ReClass after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
