Grade 10 Geometry

Maths practice questions and a worked example

These Grade 10 geometry questions combine measurement and proof: calculating the surface area and volume of real objects, such as the canvas needed for a tent or the metal in a ball, and proving properties of quadrilaterals, like showing that a shape inside a parallelogram is a rectangle. The practice questions here come from Grade 10 Paper 2 November exams (Gauteng 2022 and KwaZulu-Natal 2023).

Worked example

7.1.1 Calculate the length of AH.

Answer & explanation

Half the base diagonal-to-edge distance is 1,5 m, so AH = √(0,8² + 1,5²) = √2,89 = 1,7 m
